Our favorite restaurant in Salinas is La Placita. It is owned by a family and ran by all of them. Grandchildren even entertain you. It is closed on Monday's, however, you can make arrangements, as we did, to have a dinner for a group, minimum of 12 persons. The lobster dinner was $25. More than you could eat. Upon Pete's retirement in 2005, decision was made to go South on the boat. We will take it one day at a time. One island at a time. See how far we get. Unfortunately it was late in the season, so we took of on the land boat instead for 6 months. In 2006, we made our 1st crossing across the Florida straights towards the unknown, new cultures, islands, countries, foods, vegetation, etc. We hope you enjoy reading our adventures and looking at our pictures.... full info
