Photo of an industrial windmill, about 150 m high and almost 100m in diameter, delivers about 2MW of power when the wind blows hard but about 1000 times less when the wind blows more moderately (1m/s). Even operating at full capacity they cannot replace nuclear or fossil fuel energy,but can supply small amounts of energy, especially to rural areas. Cost to build? 1 million dollars each.
