Columns at the Karnak Temple

This temple is actually called the Karnak Complex because it is so large. It was the Mecca or the St Peters for Ancient Egyptians. It is said that 30 Pharoahs contributed to this "temple" and then after that around 323 AD Constantine the Great ordered it to be abandoned (as a Pagan Temple). It was abandoned and then a Christian church was built over the top (you can still see some Last Supper frescoes in some areas). And I think, when Egypt became a Muslim country all Christian relics were removed or painted over and it was turned into a Mosque (well parts of it anyway). Nowadays it is just an open air museum of ancient and just really old ruins of religious and sacred sites.
