Lesser Rhea or Ñandu (Pterocnemia pennata)

It stands up to 1m high. Although it looks like an ostrich its not. It has 2 fingers instead of 3. The males incubate the eggs for 40 days. Its meat was considered a delicasy by the Tehuelches.
