This now Lama was initiated into monkhood when he was quite young. Living in Tibet during the Chinese takeover, he was imprisoned and tortured for more than a year. After escaping to India, he studied Buddhism for 30 some years and now teaches in the personal monastery of the Dalia Lama. He lectured at my retreat multiple times.
