Pearl-spotted Owlet

Mostly diurnal, a pair of these little guys has been frequenting the center lately, often harassed by a host of smaller passerines, such as White-browed Buffalo-Weavers.

A first week's impressions

Technically, my day actually started very, very early in the morning, sometime between 2-4am, when a Spotted Hyena woke me by whooping right outside my banda.
