El Albaicin city wall

Our tour guide told us that there were markets within the city walls and without. It cost money for vendors to get into the city and sell their goods, but it also meant more fair exchanges for vendors and buyers because authorities checked the quality of the goods coming in. Vendors used scales and weights to measure out the proper amount of something they were selling (like beans or bead or something) and would balance the scale in order to give the right amount. However, those vendors who were caught cheating by using improper weights were arrested and the weights were hung above the entrance to city as a warning. The tour guide said we don't know what happened to the arrested vendors, but there is another entrance into the city wall called "La pared de los orejas" -- The wall of ears -- so we could probably guess.
Trip to Granada

I went to Granada this weekend and it was such an incredible trip!
