Okay, dramatic title, but I just mean to describe a day in my life in Mbale, Uganda... 5am - wake up because dogs are howling, realize it is only 5am, but stumble to the toilet. Open the door slowly and step in carefully, in case the huge cockroaches are out again (we've killed three). Remember not to wash mouth out with tap water.
