Chiang Mai station

I've just arrived in Chiang Mai after a 13 hour overnight train journey to the North. The train was an experience in itself, with the seats converting into bunk beds, & pillows & a sheet supplied. Much more civilised than I expected, & definately better than British Rail! Chiang Mai is a big city, but with a slow pace of life. Totally different to Bangkok! It is now time for a new adventure. This time I have decided to raise money for Willen Hospice in Milton Keynes. The plan is to ride 2,500km through the Western Ghats of India, starting in Goa, and ridding through Karnataca, Kerala and Tamal Nardu. We will be steering clear of main roads and using local trails as far as possible and hope to find some unusual off the beaten track places.
