Mary and Dick on Pedicab

Our vehicle when the guide took us to old section of Beijing with its narrow alleys. Our guide took us to visit a once-wealthy family who fell on hard times during Communism, especially the Cultural Revolution, when neighbor turned on neighbor and the govt confiscated land and possessions without mercy. All land still belongs to the govt, which can and will repossess it for building projects and roads at any time.

Hong Kong to Beijing

We left the Crystal Serenity shortly after docking in Hong Kong for another overland trip.
