In the nightclubs the dancing may be more intricate but on the street its raw; hose are torn; shoes are just holding together; partners wary in age and music comes live or on tape. Some dancers and musicians were positively ancient.

Jan 9 Was to meet Gerhild at 10:30. She is flying home today. I made a quick dash to the Paraguayan Consulate. Had been told how easy it would be getting a visa. WRONG!! WRONG!! WRONG!!
