The eeriness of Pashupati
Rows and rows of ancient temples with intricate carvings. Pashupati is so picturesque, yet also eery. Many of the temples here are adorned with scary images of tantric deities, and so it can be a bit frightening to walk around alone at night or in the early morning, This is especially true given the scope of the grounds, and the many secret paths that wind through its landscape. The fact that so many bodies are burned along the river adds another level to the overall eeriness. While Nepalese are generally comfortable with the idea of death, they are also avid believers in ghosts, and a site like Pashupati is an ideal setting for unsettled souls to be roaming about in search of mischief.
