What would you write Good Travel Blog. Informative as well as Analytical. Just wondering how powerful would be your expression whence you travel farther from Dolakha, anywhere in rural regions.
Bhaktapur I look forward to your travel blogs...they are an interesting read. Thanks for posting them. Bhaktapur was also one of my favorite places...did you try juju dhau? :)
Blog time It must take you hours to put these blogs together. They're so well-written. It feels as if they should be published somehow. How long does it take you to do a blog? It makes me want to visit. Maybe next time you go I can go too. I'll have to start saving my money. I wish I could have seen Nepal now through 5-year old Lilia's eyes. I suppose when and if I ever visit, she'll be older and less wide-eyed and full of questions, maybe. Or then again, maybe not. Maybe she won't lose that sense of wonder. Love, Mom
Festival It's wonderful that Maiya gets to not just have this experience but that she'll have this chronicle of what she did when she was 5 years old. It's something that she'll have for her whole life. It's nice to that she got to participate in the memorial service for Bir's mother. I'm going to Santa Cruz to visit Chris for Christmas. Tell Maiya I have new options for her and that I'm sorry she was sick although I can't figure out how raw cilantro can make someone sick! Love and miss you all.
Love from Pomona Hi Lilia. I love your blog. I am going to share it with my nephew Victor tomorrow. Please give your mom and dad a hug for me. And remember, you promised that you would teach me a Nepali song and dance when you return.
What a great story Lathrop and I are following your adventures with keen interest. We're stunned at how grown up little moo is. She's a regular little lady! Please post a picture of the three of you if you get a chance!
Fabulous! Reminiscing! You took me right there Swayambunath in the early morning. I am jealous.
It was just the perfect spot for me to warm up and exercise. Maiju, did you count the rocketing-stairs? Now, a blur figure in my head, say around 325! Damn, I forgot. Anyways, I used to hastle non-stop to the top and skip (jump-rope) 200 times on the front balcony on the top and relax with the rising morning sun.
I bet your walk was so reviving out of the rustle and hustle of busy Kathmandu. And a walk, good enough to make you lay down later. I must say, Lila, you are a brave little girl to walk that distance and up the stairs. Cheers.
Is there any change in the surroudings? I believe they have well-preserved the trees.
First morning of my return, what I would like to do is go for morning walk in that very right place.
Great travel blog. You took me right there.
Terrific blogs These blogs are fantastic. I told my classes about Maiya in the car all law-abiding and aghast at no car seats or seat belts. I also sent them the picture of her in the Thailand airport and everyone says "Aaw" I also sent a message to her about options but I never got an answer so maybe you didn't get it. Maybe you won't get this one either. Love you all
Kathmandu I enjoyed reminiscing Nepal's culture and their ceremonies. Although Lilia's mom sounded jetlagged upon arrival, pictures of Lilia illustrated that, jetlagged or not, she found Nepal fascinating. Of course we didn't see a pic of her in the traffic! But everyone responds that way the first time in Nepal or India traffic. Crazy as it is, I've never witnessed any mishaps. I'd love to hear Lilia describe that car-ride experience. What good fortune that Lilia has TWO cultures to celebrate! I wonder if the USA will seem boring after this experience.
Holly, Thank you for sharing your journey with us---it makes me nostalgic for travel to KTM. I hope you have a wonderful trip and really appreciate getting to hear about it, as it unfolds.
Tari, Priya, and Maia Gilbert
