New listening post

Here is the northern arm after they completed the changes to listen to another part of the universe. There were a few thunderstorms off in the distance. Don't think many places got any rain.

Another fun side trip today. I went to the VLA - Very Large Array. It is 50 miles west of Socorro at an elevation of 7000 feet. I was vaguely familiar with it, but forgot it was out here. Twenty seven “small” antennas - each a mere 82 feet in diameter (think the size of a baseball infield - which is 90 feet across) make up the radio telescope. There are three arms each 13 miles long.
