We left Genova early in the morning and caught a train across the border into France arriving in Nice just after midday. Unfortunately our hotel wouldn't let us check in before 2:00pm so we had to spend some time in the airconditioned comfort of KFC nearby (only the 2nd KFC for the trip) while we waited for 2:00pm to arrive.
