We got up, paid up, and scooted over to the shopping center near where we had supper with Viv (17th Ave and Main Road, Walmer) so we could try to complete Mom's errand. I was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa on June 2, 1970, and emigrated from there to the US in March, 1983 with my parents and 2 sisters. On June 9, 1979, however, my family embarked on an adventure that changed my world--we took a 7-week trip to England, the US, Canada, and Germany. I was fascinated by the way people lived in other places.
