Night time view of Phousi Hill

Phou si means “Holy Mountain” in Lao and the Phousi Stupa built in 1804 stands at the top of Phousi Hill located in the heart of the city. We climbed the 328 steps to the top and were rewarded with outstanding views of the surrounding mountains and the Nam Khan and Mekong Rivers on either side.

Luang Prabang is a very beautiful city surrounded by green mountains and clay coloured waters. The whole city was listed as a world heritage site since 1995 by UNESCO.
