Left Jaine/Alex’s after a leisurely breakast including a stroll around the garden. We topped at Mount Bruce wildlife centre which is a splendid stop. They protect and breed rare NZ birds. The birds are housed in large aviaries set in a remnant of ancient forest. There are stitchbirds, kaka and takahe. Thee are streams with huge eels.
