Lalati Grasslands Different publications have different translations of the name. This is a huge valley bounded by mountains. The grasslands are inhabited by Kazakh people. My first overseas trip was in 1970 when my parents dragged me kicking and screaming (and crying) from the UK to Australia. Nowadays I thank them for that move.
