The dolce far niente of Southeast Asia
April 5th 2007 In the early morning, a man is selling ice cream from a cart on Rambuttri Lane. He piles the scoops onto slabs of Italian bread, as if he were making a meatball sub. I don't know why this strikes me as stranger than putting ice cream in a cone, but it does.
