Boxwork Ceiling Formations

The majority of the rock was once a softer rock, similar to limestone. Harder minerals filled in small cracks, and the softer rock eroded over time, leaving this boxwork.

It feels fantastic to be on vacation! On Friday afternoon, Andrew, the kids, and I set out from Des Moines to Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
