Mote (boiled corn / Paraqay)

Every community wants to share something with us and the people of Taray had brought a bowl of boiled corn, called mote, for us to eat. We passed it around, with nobody seeming worried about sharing food. There are no cases of Covid in Taray, so I had nothing to be afraid of, although I was surprised that they weren't more worried about any germs that I could have brought from Cusco.

Sunday, 5 July, 2020 Today I woke up in a tent, in the middle of the Huchuy Qosqo Inca archeological site. Last night was a full moon and it really was a magical experience to see such an important Inca site lit up by moonlight as if it were daytime.
