Young American Couple
This lovely couple are only about 5 foot 3 inches tall and the gentleman's nickname when playing carpet bowls is "Killer" At Sea: Last night a group of our new friends we have made on board all went to the Steakhouse to help Sharon Murdoch celebrate her birthday. The steaks are absolutely fantastic and a three course meal only costs $25.00 per head, great value in anyone’s language.
I don’t know what was in my rib eye however as no matter how much I tried I could not get to sleep, I was still awake at 3:30 a.m. then 4:30 a.m. and up at 6:30 a.m. glad I don’t have to go to work today.
During today we will continue on a South Westerly heading through the South Pacific Ocean towards Auckland. In the early hours of this morning we crossed the international date line, and we omit the 25
th of August from our journey. Since its beginning it has zigzagged to avoid splitting apart countries into two days. It bends through the Bering Strait to avoid placing far Northeastern Russia in a different day than the rest of the country. However in 1995 the authorities of Kiribati put a stop to this and decided to move the International Date Line. Now eastern Kiribati and Hawaii, which are located in the same area of longitude are a whole day apart.
