"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field." Matthew 9 : 37 - 38 Friday 25th July was a sunny morning and the temp was set to reach 17 degrees.
After breakfast we headed to St Marks, Jess ready to start weeding the area to the side of the Church and Evelyn ready to help out with 'Little Ducks' before turning her hand to weeding. Evelyn had a great day with the little children and the Mothers at 'Little Ducks' which is a playgroup that runs from 10.00am to 12 noon.
The weeding was a great opportunity to work outside in the pleasant sunny conditions and something we have not had to do since we started our BCA work 3 months ago. Jess had started the weeding about 9.30am and we both called it a day at around 2.30pm.
Saturday 26th July - Jess has now been official retired for 12 months - but as the Blog shows retirement does not mean lack of things to do, quite the opposite !!!!!!!
We headed into Mildura for a look at this city
St Mark's Red Cliffs
Front of hedge that needs a hair cut and wow it's very big and spacious with all the modern retail shopping one could need. Then it was back to Red Cliffs for lunch and back to our weeding. Just about an hour finished the side of the church.
We then turned our attention to the creeper that was growing above the memorial garden and gave it a 'Haircut' which would keep it under control for some time to come.
While we were finishing up Doug and Frances Orr, the BCA Nomad coordinators arrived to say hello. Doug and Frances are on there way back to Sydney after three months Nomading in the Northern Territory and will be staying in Red Cliffs until Monday morning. It was great to catch up with them as we last saw them in Sydney just over 12 months ago.
Sunday 27th July was again another sunny morning after a cold night, 3 degrees, so we decided to walk the short distance to St Mark's for the 10.30am Holy Communion service and an opportunity to worship with Doug, Frances and the congregation of 25. The service was followed by a sit down lunch, hot soup, pasta and fruit which is provided

Front of hedge & Memorial garden after the hair cut every Sunday on a roster basis. It was a good opportunity to talk to members of the congregation before heading back to the caravan and a relaxing afternoon with Doug and Frances, great to sit outside the caravan in the sun enjoying a glass of wine and good fellowship.
Monday 28th July and it was time to say our goodbyes to Doug and Frances. We then headed off to St Marks to start weeding the front garden and Rev Dale had asked us to take another foot off the creeper because it is such a fast grower. We worked in the morning and took the afternoon off to have a look around Red Cliffs.
Tuesday 29th July and with a temp expected around 20 degrees we had a slow morning before heading to St Marks to continue our weeding at the front of the Church. After 3 hours we had finished our weeding for the day. It is also 3 months since we headed off from Traralgon on this BCA Nomad part of our Journey of Faith.
Wednesday 30th July was to be a busy busy day. We started by attending the 9.30am Holy Communion service at
St Mark's Red Cliffs
Rear of hedge before the hair cut St Marks. It was a small service in the Chapel at the rear of the church attended by 4 people. These services are very special as they include discussion after the sermon and Holy Communion is past around in a circle.
After the service we were invited to sit in on a Bible study group who were using a study discussion guide 'Unveiled - A Christian Study Guide to Islam' the discussion was very rewarding and informative.
After lunch, Pam, a member of St Mark’s congregation invited us to visit her brother in laws fruit block and processing shed. Red Cliffs is a large citrus fruit growing area plus they also grow grapes, Avocados and Asparagus. The shed had large bins at the front that contained Mandarins, Oranges & Tangelos (a cross between a Mandarin and a Grapefruit) these had all been picked in the past couple of days. The fruit is then washed, waxed, dried and then sorted into size before being boxed before being transported to the Melbourne wholesale market. It was a very interesting time and you became mesmerised by the whole process. Before leaving and heading to the orange groves for a look we

Thursday 31st July was a very windy but sunny and warm day. We headed back to St Marks to work on replacing the trellises on the side gate. Jess and Paul Smithers, one of the Church wardens, had replaced the gate post yesterday so our task was to remove the old trellises and cut and refit new trellises that had already been purchased.
Thursday evening we were invited by two members of the congregation, Paul & Diana Smithers, to their house in Mildura for dinner and great fellowship.
Friday 1st August and what a change in the weather, cold (4 degrees) wet and windy. Today was the official opening of
'RENEW' which is an Op Shop, Food Bank and a place to interact with the community through workshops/programs.
'RENEW' is located in a shop in the high street and was officially opened by Bishop Revd. Andrew Curnow from the Diocese of Bendigo and was followed by morning tea in the shop for all. It was a pleasure to be able to attend the opening and also assist wherever we could with the final setup and
preparations.
