Okay, so I am now in Aberdeen Scotland, Sarah and Chris have been back for almost 2 weeks, Sarah got her last entry up within a day of getting home and I took my sweet time getting my last entry posted.
I thought I would share with everyone a few of the funny moments on the trip.
Sleeping arrangments:
For the most part we had some pretty interesting sleeping arrangements. We tried to spice things up a bit and we used various sleeping combinations.
Port Douglas: 2 bedroom apartment - nothing exciting there
Cairns: Two double beds in one room, Sarah and I slept together, Chris and Nathan slept together
Byron Bay: First night, Sarah and Nathan in the double bed, Chris in the single bed that was located over the double bed, me on the floor on a therma rest by the door. Second and third night, I got the single bed and Chris got the floor - just want to point out that he was not being punished and he was not forced to sleep on the floor
Rainforest: Nathan in the lower bunk, Chris started off in the upper bunk but he got scared

"Camping" at Anna Bay of the bugs so he went to the couch, I think Sarah was on the floor and I was in a double bed - all in one room
South West Rocks: 2 bedroom apartment - nothing exciting there
Anna Bay: I got the double bed in the main room, the other room had 3 single bunk beds. Nathan ended up on the floor, Sarah on the lowest bed, Chris started off in the middle bed but due to his height, he joined me in the main room on the floor. Power went out this night, I had to find my way to the washroom at 3am in the dark without a flash light - lucky for Chris I did not step on him!
Sydney: 1 bedroom apartment, Chris and Nathan in the bedroom, me and Sarah on the pull out couch.
At some point during the trip, Sarah wanted a break from the entire family sleeping in the same bed, so her suggestion and I believe this came out in Byron Bay was for her and Nathan to sleep in the single bed and Chris and I to sleep in the double bed. Chris and I just sat there

"Camping" at Anna Bay in silence after Sarah proposed this, not knowing if she was joking. Turns out, she was just tired and had not thought her plan all the way out. We never tried this arrangment.
Australia Food:
Is eating TimTams for dinner wrong? We never thought so. Is eating meat pies everyday wrong? I don't think so. Ice cream every day wrong? Nope, not according to me and Sarah.
Rainforest:
Sarah and Chris HAD to go to the Rainforest. I think they forgot that I live in Vancouver and that from November to March, it rains in Vancouver and I basically live in a rainforest. More time in the sun is never a bad choice.
Driving in Australia:
Picking up the car in Brisbane, I was a bit nervous about the road trip part of our trip. Neither Chris or Sarah had driven on the left side of the road and I had limited experience with this as well. Luckily, the rental car had a sign that said "keep left" and that became our motto every time we went driving. This was only forgotten once by Chris in South West Rocks, and in all fairness, it
Me and Sarah
Must I get my hair wet? was really, really early in the morning. Both Chris and I did hit curbs on the left side of the road, we both put the windshield wipers on to indicate that we wanted to turn and we both got into the passenger side to drive at different points of the trip. Sarah and Nathan slept a lot in the backseat. I could place a picture of Sarah and Nathan sleeping but Sarah would kill me as the picture is not the best of her.
We saw many interesting road signs while driving. Not sure if we always knew what they meant, we just went with the flow of things. Did we ever find out what the black circle meant?
Camping:
So the idea was to camp on this trip. Since I am a huge camping fan, I was looking forward to this - who actually believes me when I say this? Lucky for me, the times when we went to camp, the weather worked in my favour and the weather was so bad that camping was ruled out - usually by me. I used my sleeping bag lots (thanks for lending me one Vancouver-Chris) but I never
Chris
How old am I? got to help set up a tent. Of course, the day after I left Australia, the family did camp without me but apparently it was cold and it was not a pleasant one.
All in all, it was an awesome adventure and I thank Sarah and Chris for letting me join them for 3 weeks.
Now back to reality and cold Aberdeen! 6 more flights till I am home for Christmas. Business travel sucks when you compare it to vacation travel.

At last!
Glad you finally got your final blog up! Thanks for not including an unattractive picture of me in your blog! I like your summary of the various sleeping arrangements - even though some were not ideal, at least we got enough sleep to keep sane! By the way, you may be interested to know that during the Grey Cup show, they had 'lady lumps' playing - they were horrible!!! I can't believe that song is so popular - Chris and I were embarrased for whoever paid for them to sing!
