The climb
Stuck, in a place with bugger all to do. Still waiting for a canoe partner, which is due to depart today. I decide, rather that sit on my ass and read a book, to try a 1 day trip! Common sense was thrown to the wind on this one, to be honest 1 day trips priced at $180 are aimed at a certain travelling group. Not mine! Got on the bus, average age 50! Strouth!

Had a good day, the folks were very friendly, just more mature and of a lesser fitness level shall we say. Did a nice hike up a creeky, gorgey type thing at a snails pace. Suited me to be honest.

El Questro as featured in travel shows, is a tourist outback park giving the Kimberly experience in one go. Since I missed out on a kimberly trip, this kinda made up for it!

Owned by the son of an English Aristrograt, he bought the former cattle station at $1 per acher. Buying $1000000, in the late 60's.

Deciding that cattle doesnt make money, hes built it up to what it is today. Go have a read!

Incidentially, being a scholar of
Turqouise Creek
Spanish, I was wondering what El Questro meant. The truth is Lord Owner chap, got pissed with his mate one night, decided on a catchy name in Spanish. Woke up the next day, travelled to the office where you register the name, forgot completely the name he has come up with, so put on the spot spurted out ´El Questro´ which means absolutely bugger all! So there you are, enlighted?

Nice day, bumper lunch! Another gorge, not worth the wonga if u r on a budget!
