Heading north some 20 kms from Burleigh is the Broadwater. Great place to play!

This is a "stinger-proof" enclosed swimming area at Southport. Unfortunately the Aussie summer is peak season for a number of marine stingers, so this allows people to swim and keep cool with a much lower risk of being stung.

At first I thought this guy was "mowing the sand"! No, he's "sifting" it so rubbish and potentially harmful objects are removed.The area is then safe for young children to play.

Hi Sue, It's hard to believe that it's been more than a year since you were here with us in Toronto. But it's been fantastic following your adventures through the Middle Kingdom. Many thanks for taking me along. I look forward to hearing about your next trip! It's great to see that there are still some people who don't treat life like a dress rehearsal!

Where's the sunshine??
Gee Suzie.... we have sunshine most days but in these photos I can't find it....but.... really like the idea of photos rather then "chat" - after all, a picture's worth a 1000 words..... ir so I've been told! and they're great!!Take care Lovely!
