Hi all,

We have now been in Australia for a week and we are loving it! We are driving down the east coast from cairns to Melbourne in a campervan.

We have so far made it down as far as Airlie Beach which is in the Whitsunday's. The beaches here are amazing although we haven't seen anyone swimming in the sea because of the Box Jellyfish.

The campervan isn't too much of squeeze. So far we are enjoying being alot more independent and self reliant than we were in Asia (Although this has meant alot of tomato pasta meals and cereal).

The drives for place to place are anything but dull with amazing views of mountains, flat plains, huge rivers. Also trying to guess that animal the road kill is (still trying to spot our first kangaroo, dead or alive). We are heading to Hillsborough Cape tomorrow as apparently there are lots of Kangaroos there.

We had alot of rain when we first arrived. It was torrential for a couple of days. We went to visit Mission Beach but it was raining so hard we couldn't enjoy the beach and when we tried to leave town all the roads were flooded, we were stranded and had to find somewhere to stay for the night. The weather has been brilliant since and we are slowly working up a tan.

Matt

P.s sorry there are no pictures, I wrote this on Charlie's phone because we were given some free wi-fi. We will try and get to an Internet cafe soon and get some pictures up.

Hi Matthew, so good to hear your news. Australia sounds amazining. Hope you get to see Kangaroos soon. I have some special friends in Melbourne and I know they would love you to say Hi to them. Rev Ray and Glenys McInnes at St. Silas Vicarage 384 Ferrara Street St. Albert Park 3206. Ray, Glenys stayed with us many years ago and they visited again 18 months ago. We had wonderful time with them and their children who got on so well with my Kate and John Mc. Sadly their oldest son was later killed in motor acident. Anyway if you are close to them make contact with them. much love now and HAPPY EASTER to you and your friends. Maybe you could pop into Rays church for Easter. Nan and Papa John xxxxxxxxxxx
