Here I am again,

Today was cloudy all day so we did a few hikes in the Whangarei area about

28 km from our home stay. It was very nice sort oh jungle like feeling without

the concerns of snakes or whatever. There are no poisonous snakes in NZ.

Quite a civilized adventure over treetop walkways and swing bridges.

There were some young (juvenile) Kauri trees.Really large. Gloria is hugging

one in the picture. Our days in the northland will be over tomorrow as we

will head for Hamilton on Saturday. That is more towards the west coast

below Auckland about 1 1/2 n hours.

You can look at today's images if you would like. 9 images

Click on the first they will enlarge.

I think you'll like the rain forest ones.

Thanks for looking

I am always

Lowell

If I do not hear from you again I will assume you are lost in the Forest. Great pictures. We survived Sandy and got our electric b ack on yesterday (31st) at 2 PM. No trees fell down on our property but a man, getting up and going down to the kictchen for a glass of water, was killed when a monstrous tree came down and fell on the house. He lived about a mile from us.

rain forest/Gloria's comments
The rain forest is just beautiful. I've never seen a rain forest in person. The kauri trees are gorgeous. That looks like my kinda place. Loved Gloria's notes. I like hearing about the background of the places you are going. Yes!! Keep up the prayers on the election. While I know it's in His hands, I'm wrestling with worry on it. Which is really not like me to worry. So struggling. I did not know that NZ was socialist. See? Learned something!! Guess we're never too old. Thanks for sharing,...Jenny
