Today we finished all the paperwork: We now officially possess a banc account and an IRD number as we have to pay taxes here...
So our work&travel can actually start. We are still looking for jobs and a car. People told us it is much easier to buy a car as the bus and train connections are very bad and expensive. So in summary, this is how we spent our first two days.
Today we went to the re:started city mall. In fact, it's a place where you can find cute little shops and food trucks. Since the fatal earthquake in 2011 it had been totally reconstructed but in containers. I really liked the concept!
In that open air mall we also talked to a man who explained us a bit about the maori, who are the aboriginal people. I really start getting more and more tightened by these kiwi people here in New Zealand.

People here are all so helpful, kind and nice it's unbelievable! I'll give you some basic examples: Twice as we took out our map to check if we were still right people stopped and asked if we needed help or if we were lost. Also a girl in our hostel is very helpful, since she is giving us plenty of advice. Maybe these are just really small things however it makes it much easier to settle in here in Aotearoa.
