We slept late then went to the Saturday market. It’s only the second market event so far with about ten stalls selling farm produce, making music, face painting, hand made clothing etc. The market was on the lawn next to the Global Gypsy and we spent most of our time chatting to Bruce and getting to know some other interesting folks.
After sammies we went to the Last Resort and Paddy explained to us, in his great Irish accent, exactly what he has in mind for his barn/house/workshop. It's an American style barn with the upper level as his house/gallery and the bottom floor his workshop. It's gonna be awesome!
With the meeting done we went home and Ferdi built a quick 3D model of the barn just for fun. After dinner we drove out to Dave's place for a night of music around a bonfire. They live in this great big Bedford bus on a beautiful piece of land and plan to build a log home too. After a tour of the bus we played with the kids for a bit then spent a fantastic evening playing music and chatting. Paddy also came and played
his accordion, his handmade drum and even a bit on our guitar.
Today's highlights:
1. Meeting some interesting people.
2. Great night out.
Thought for the day:
When a bunch of like-minded people come together the resulting vibe can be amazing. Sunday, October 25th
Ferdi woke with a very unhappy stomach. Somewhere he'd eaten something he shouldn't have. After more than nine months of traveling, most of which in South East Asia, he finally got the runs. Even so we started our day with a bang, cleaning the house from top to bottom. It was no small task, but with everyone pitching in we finally got it done around 2pm. We moved out of our van and into the spare room because we use the van to transport people and tools. This means they sit in our bedroom, which drive Talita nuts.
Today's highlights:
1. Spring-cleaning the house.
2. Moving into our room.

Happy birthday Mel! Hope you have a fantastic day and get extra super cuddles from Nicol and Keira. May God bless you this coming year with joy and happiness and all good things. This morning a bird crapped
on Ferdi’s head just as he walked out the house. Not a good beginning to his day. We continued with more building theory while Bruce added the finishing touches on his boat's paint job. He also showed us how to sharpen the chain on a chainsaw and how to use it safely. At tea time we enjoyed a kiwi delicacy; sipping tea through a Tim Tam! Mmm…
Just before 5pm we drove to Dave's property to check on a possible place to do our practical. It started to rain heavily while we were hiking through the rainforest. We hadn't come prepared for rain so we got drenched. We managed to find the perfect spot for our practical, but it was on neighboring land so we have to wait for permission before proceeding.
Back home we setup a BBQ but the wood was wet and all we managed to do was blow a lot of smoke. Luckily Marie, the friendly lady next door, offered us some dry wood and soon after we had a good fire going. While we waited for the coals to form we hung the hammocks we got in Bali and enjoyed the last of the
sun reclining and relaxing. Tim brought over a few beers and we cooked his latest catch.
Today's highlights:
1. Finding the perfect spot to do our practical.
2. Chilling in our hammocks.
