Well, I'm in Christchurch at the moment. Today I got up and rented a car, and we took the Ferry from Wellington to Picton. Then we drove about 5 hours down the east coast and ended up in Christchurch. Now I am just sitting in an internet cafe relaxing. It's about eleven o'clock. We just had dinner in a Korean/Japanese restaurant. It was pretty good. Also, we walked around for a while and scoped out some possible things to see tomorrow. There was a box that we walked by earlier that said something like "chess can be played from 9am to 6pm" or something like that. It looks like you can play chess on the cement, so that looks cool. I am about to go to bed now. We are staying in a hostel just down the street. Tomorrow we are going to get up and hang out in Christchurch for a few hours, and then we'll hit the road and drive to Dunedin. It should take about 6 hours to get there.

I really enjoyed Christchurch. We got up this morning and walked around for a while. They have a tram that runs

And obviously not watching where I am going in the city. Looks just like the ones in San Francisco. It was sweet. Also, there was a shallow stream that ran around different parts of the city, and you can go on a boat ride with a guy standing on the back. It's just like in Venice Italy. I thought that was really cool. In the middle of the city centre there are lots of shops and stores. We poked around for a bit but didn't see anything worth buying, considering how low my expenditures are getting hah. Anyway, what I thought was really cool was the chess game we saw. In the heart of it all there's a little park area, with an old church, and old style buildings surrounding. In the middle of it all there's a part of the cement where there is a chess board made out of cement. Next to it was that box that all the chess pieces are kept in at night. So today when we walked by we sat and watched the end of a chess game. The board that was made in the cement was probably 15 feet on each side. The chess pieces were tall. The king was probably
up to my waist. So that was cool. Heaps of people were sitting around watching it. I have never seen anything like that back home. It was interesting. Anyway, then we drove down to Dunedin and saw some scenery. I'll get into that in the Dunedin Journal, check it out.....
