From Te Anau our next stop was the deep south- Catlins National Park. This is a very scenic place, so along the way, we tried to stop at all the major points of interest.

These included:

Waipapa Lighthouse which wasn't great for a picture as it had blue scaffolding all around it and workmen banging around on top.
Slope Point, the south island's most southern point. We had to take a dirt track to get to it and there were lots of sheep like usual!
Curio Bay is a really beautiful beach and when the tide goes out, there are huge fossil stacks within the rocks.
Porpoise Bay looked like something from Hawaii, there was a gorgeous golden sand beach with awesome surf... this is a famous place to learn to surf, surrounded by dolphins, seals and penguins.
Matai Falls and Horseshoe falls were two big waterfalls which you can access by a rainforest walk.

We then found our accomodation in Owaka and will stay here tonight.
