This morning we popped down to the Richmond Mall because menswear was on sale at Farmer's (department store) and Sandra thought that Robin needed some new shorts. While Robin and Sandra went bargain hunting we had a bit of a look around the mall which is quite small compared with what we are used to at Westfield Fountain Gate or Northland. Our best find was the card shop having a half price sale on all greeting cards. I can't resist well-priced cards so I spent about NZ$20 on half a dozen very nice quality greeting cards.
We had another very lazy afternoon in sunny Nelson. The weather has been much nicer since we crossed over to the South Island. Although it is a bit windy. We are being blamed for bringing the wind with us from Wellington. Apparently it's either that or the unusually windy weather is due to the earthquake last Sunday. We think it must be due to the earthquake!
Sandra and I walked Charlie this afternoon. We headed down the hill rather than up the hill. There is a fabulous network of walking paths around Richmond. Sandra pointed out the path that goes all the way
down to the shops if we want to walk (about 20 minutes) down to the shops any time. We continued on the left hand path through parkland and then looped back around through one of the newer housing estates to Robin and Sandra's.
During the afternoon our Farewell Spit Eco Tour was confirmed for Tuesday morning so Bernie booked some accommodation for us in Collingwood on Monday night. We hadn't wanted to book accommodation until we were sure that we would be able to do the tour. We secured a room at one of the motels without any trouble.
Cards - I'm on a roll with 'Jo' winning again tonight. We won the first game of Bolivia to even up the score card, but then Robin and Sandra beat us in the second game to maintain their one game advantage.
