Well, the Milford sounds are quite amazing. The combination of a large body of water with high cliffs, snowy mountains, waterfalls and low clouds is a slam dunk. Just see some pictures, no need to add much words. Tomer and me did like 5 hours of kayaking there, which is a great way to see the sounds. The best part was when our guide instructed us to join all our boats together, and then made us hold up a sail with our oars and we just went sailing! The wind took us pretty fast and we didn't have to paddle, just hold the sail. It was pretty sweet.
Others from our little group went cruising or diving in the sounds, which also sounded neat, if you'll excuse the punt. But what can I do, it all cost time and money. Turns out that even in a vacation, life is still full of difficult decisions.
Oh, and we saw the end of the celebrated Milford track, so I got that checked too. Tomorrow we start the Kepler.
