We received some last pointers on things we needed to do in the South Island from Liz and Warrick and said good bye to our gracious hosts before heading north. We stopped in Kaikoura to check out the resident seal colony and taste wine at a vineyard overlooking the sunny beach. We continued up the road and stopped at Ohau Bay to check out a water fall which can have seal pups at the base of the falls (it didn't). Blenheim, a local region famous for its white wines, was our stop for the night.
