Today was the last day in Te Anau. Our see-kayaking trip was canceled by the kayak company so we made the best of it by taking a hike along a river. The trail we were on was used for a scene in the Lord of the Rings. There was a carpet of green vegetation on everything -the ground, the trees, the rocks. It seemed like a good place for a hobbit anyway. The hike ended at a small lake.
In the afternoon we drove to Queenstown to start the adventure portion of the trip. Queenstown is on a beautiful lake and reminds you of a busy ski-town in Colorodo.
