(Thats a maori greeting by the way) Coming to the end of my 5 weeks in New Zealand at its been some of the best weeks yet. Arrived to a grey Auckland and spent a week bumming around so that we could catch England play the All Blacks at Eden Park! England were pants as usual but it was a great night out, facepaint, the haka, mexican waves, beer and all that. We then embarked on the notourious Kiwi Experience bus on our journey south.Well I loved it, we had a great group and loads of laughs on the way down. Highlights of the north island included, learning the haka (and then performing it completley smashed in the bar later), rafting in caves, luging, and an alphine crossing across the crater of a volcano, singed the toe hairs a bit. Also did a skydive next to Mt Doom from lord of the rings, amazing experience so surreal and such a rush. Had plenty of wild nights aswell, you may have seen all the drunken snaps.
A short ferry ride across the straits and we were on the South Island and headed south down the old mining towns of the West Coast. Plenty of scenic walks, and more partying, a fancy dress party hosted my a 80+ yr old landlord in a pub in the middle of nowhere was a definate highlight, incredible steaks. The theme was P so i went as a Pond (blue sheet, cardboard cutouts, loads of grass leaves etc). Shane stole the show though with his Pinyata (cardboard box and loads of tissue paper), great effort and the free sweets when u hit him defo went down well with the ladies and quite rightly he won the free canyon swing prize. Next was a scenic kayak trip across a mirror lake next to snow peaked mountains. The following day hungover as usual we took a stoll on the Franz Josef Glacier. Stuning scenery, almost felt like we were on a film set. Good laugh fooling around with crampons and ice axes. Then we headed to Queenstown, and what a town it is, yet again amazing scenery and adventure sport heaven. A 134m cable car bungy was the highlight, i really could do it all day. Did some skiing, frisbee golf, more walks and played the best crazy golf course in the world! Queenstowns nightlife isnt bad either, wine, goon, beer, jagerbombs, passion pops and suicide tequilas all went down in that week. If any of u visit queenstown in the future ull hear about the institution which is 'Fergburger', accordingly to most people the best burger in the wolrd, but i just saw it as a nice burger but still pretty proud to say i had 11! somthing u can all try and beat. Left Queenstown 10days later for Christchurch where we flying out of tomorrow for fiji for a welcome bit of sun, sea and sand, although i will miss the snow. Hope ur all good and see u soon x
