After the NY party I got a lift to Christchurch where I met up with a few mates I met before a while back. Favourite city in NZ so far. It has a colonial feel to it and actually has a bit of life in it. There is so much going on in NZ but with a small population the first thing that hits you is that you wonder where everyone goes out. They all have their own parties but Christchurch is a lot more like home. Some good beaches there too.

They have a good museum and although I thought the antarctic centre was a rip off it was extremely interesting. All the scientists that go on to Antarctica come through here - "The Gateway to Antarctica" Obviously as a scientist I found this place extremely interesting.
