Ok, this was the most intense week- and its only going to get more!! I am so exhausted, but I'm still goin! Lectures are very intense- in a great way- but not a lot of time to process! I really dont know how to explain this week - it was just jammed full!
Our lecture this week was on the Father Heart of God, it was absolutely necessary to understand and accept into my life. I was challenged with if I really do recognize Jesus and how to look at God in a whole new way. Start blind, cups empty and ready to be filled. Even a blind man knows what he wants, to see, so.. what do you want?! Our faith requires works, or it is dead. Just have to know how to ask and what to ask God, He wants to give it to us! Matthew 7:7-11. And so, I will come to Him every morning and night with the same questions about what he wants from me until he answers, then I'll bring more! Though, it is not just about knowing the answer, but how you got to the answer, and also the intimacy it brings.
Something else that really challenged me was the question "who told you?" (Genesis 3:11) Everything has come from God - He created me, the world, and I was made to be His daughter, so who has told me otherwise? What lies do we believe and why would we ever believe them?! God, our creator, the one who breathed life into us, and our Father is here loving us unconditionally, trying to tell us who we are, what to do, and yet we stray and listen to the father of lies instead. You can see how Satan attacks, first with words, then at God's character- here he introduces pride, unbelief, doubt, and fear - and this is what we have chosen to believe! What the heck!!! It just really made me look at what I have believed and been told about my identity, value-worth, future and destiny! You cant have follow both fathers! (Father of light: James 1:17, father of lies: John 8:39-44) It has been helpful to walk through life with the simple question of "Did God say?" As a man thinks, so is he.
Everything that I bring to God, He can heal, touch, and bring restoration, but
the stuff I choose to not surrender or give to God, He cannot touch. We change and transform our lives not through change but through exchange - Key is to learn how to die: Paul - I die daily...So he can live.
Another huge concept that I feel like I finally grasped was the concept of Sonship, what we were originally created for - Jesus died for our sonship with God, not just salvation, and it is our first priority. God will work with what we give Him, exchange slavery- ready to let go of what we have, for sonship - Being a son or daughter of Christ. Hello God's original plan, restoration and sonship and Good-bye distractions! Apply new principles that God is enough, but you must fight for it! Romans 5:18,19 - Sin by one man, righteousness by one man. This is where the exchange comes!
We all learned how to do the HAKA this week! It was to show us how to fight for what we want and FIGHT for God and our relationship with Him!!! The Haka is a Maori (natives of NZ) warrior chant! Its about bringing darkness to light, and it is sooooo
sweet! We had to do it at our town meeting we hold on Wednesdays for everyone! But it really brought us together as a team, and showed us how to fight for each other and toward the same goal! Dad- I thought of you, I will have to give ya some more details, but You would like it! The All Blacks rugby team do it if you want to see!
On Good Friday we has a service outside in Paparoa with the nearby towns then had the opportunity to go to different families homes to spend the day with them. Sarah and I went to an older couples home and we got a day to just sit and read, which was so fabulous to have a break- I actually slept the majority of the time, whoops! Then Saturday we went on a big hike to Peach cove up and down this mountain to the ocean! It was sooooo amazing and soooo hard! I loved it!!!! It is always a treat to have a break from the base and get the blood flowin!
I absolutely am loving everyone here and everyone is getting so close, I seriously do not
know what I am going to do when we all have to go our separate ways, it is going to be terrible! We are now known as the Railway children DTS, because we are obsessed with the train that goes by! Everynight at 9:55pm, we all go to the bridge and watch the train go by ha! Its our nightly activity, and now we are known for it!
Know that I am praying and thinking of all of you at home!!! I love you all!
