After our dramatic time up in the north part of the north island we continued in our pursuit for some peace and quiet, this time it was in relation to New Years. We stayed in a rest area before we went to Wai-O-Tanu Thermal Area the next day.

This is Lady Knox Geyser, which blows at 10.15am each day, as they put soap into to induce it.

The Lady gets going, covering everyone down wind with cold sprayed air. This is because there is a alayer of cold water sitting on hot water, and the soap mixes it up and makes it erupt. Or something like that?

Well no they didn't. After waiting for it to erupt, they took they pics and slowly drifted out to the rest of Wai-O-Tanu.
