That's the tram going down
Only spent a day in Wellington, but it's nice place. Honestly, I didn't realise until I was here that Wellington is actually the capital of New Zealand, not Auckland. Stayed in the YHA, which has absolutely no character at all, but it could be worse I suppose. Went in the tram up the hill to a little cable car museum at the top. Apparently, a lot of the people who live in the hilly parts of Wellington (most of them) and have enough money have private cable-car systems! They're little two-person carriages, and sound completely awesome. Also went to Parliment, as they have free tours once an hour. It was really fascinating actually.

Left Wellington on the ferry to the South Island, then got the bus to Christchurch. Really nice journey, going right on the coast so saw loads of seals. Here, have some pictures!
