My New Shades
A rest stop on the Tongariro crossing ;) (so i just finished writing this blog and was about to download some awesome pictures! but i only have 10 minutes left and the stupid computer isn't responding to my camera b/c of security reasons- so i'll try to add the pictures tomorrow or the next day- but you should see them!) here is the blog i wrote...
There is so much I want to write about and share...but now that I finally sat down to an Internet cafe- i only have 20 minutes before they close...so here i go...
I've been having a freaking balst...i'm going to work backwards...today I did the Tongariro crossing- but far the most challening hike i've ever done! it was so windy and foggy- we couldnt see much- it's a one day hike over this volcano in Taupo- and there are magnificent views- the only thing is that it's more than likely foggy and shitty weather- raining- and your hiking up these huge mountains- it's where they filmed Lord Of Rings- i think when frodo throws the ring into the fire pit- its that volcano- and it just amazed to me that they let people do this...so youre up on this mountain with
like a 2-3 feet width of trail and either side are these huge volcanoe like cliffs with the wind blowing like 40 mph or something- and you can barely see in front of you! it was insance- a 6 hour hike or so- and it kicks your ass- but so rewarding...and then i just got back and went to the lake with a few friends in from the hostel and have found a perfect spot in the grass above the lake- which is roraring like an ocean- with the sunset- at 8:00 at night with the sun still blaring- went for a swim out to a far bouyey (how do you spell that?) and found a tree stump out there and did back flips and different crazy dives and me and my friend rated each other! so perfect! being kissed by the sun- just really being able to be there and present- cause i dont have the normal life stresses in my life right now! i can just be and go which ever direction i want...
so the day before......get ready....I WENT SKYDIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was so freaking awesome!!!!! i was scared out of my mind at first...but couldnt stop
Tongariro Crossing
At the most extreme part of the track, with extremely strong winds and huge cliffs on either side, the asian cupple saw it as a prime photo opt. giggling! and then all of a sudden we were out of the plane- and probably the first 10 seconds i could really feel that we were falling and i was screaming my head off! until my breath ran out then would inhale and scream again- and then the falling feeling stopped- i think we hit our terminal velocity and it was awesome! put our arms out in front of use and spun...and then just flew the rest of the way down! amazing! ( i can understand your addiction now Liz!)
The day before I was in rotorua- the town that smells- of rotten eggs! It is filled with geothermail hot springs...best day- i woke up a little late- went for a mountain bike ride in this forest- and oh man- it was so awesome! to be out on a bike again- and it wasnt too difficult so it was enjoyable! 😉 and then came back and went to this very special spot- where a cold river and hot river meet! can you imagine such a thing?? Imganie sitting in a river- more like a heavy flowing stream and right before you the river splits- and coming from it's left
in a flowing stream of HOT water- like really hot- and to the right is flowing cold water...and if you drifted to your left you would feel like you just entered a sauna of flowing hot water- with the sun on your face...and then you go over to the right and are refreshed by the shade and cool water- and then you find the middle where the two temperatures are playing with one another- swirling and twirling, mixtures of both cold and hot water circling around your body- amazing!
So i'v been having a blast- meeting great people- and feeling liberated. Feeling strong and healthy and good about being out on my own and making my own decisions- and the best part being so open, is that i can just go with the flow- what ever direction my travels take me in this country i can follow!
may you all follow your own as well!!

It's sounds like you are having a ton of fun and embracing every moment since you left!! You're definitely grabbing life by the balls!! I'm so glad that you went skydiving!! See what I mean? I know a couple of the guys that work at that dropzone.... Blair, the head packer, spent last summer at Lodi and we jumped quite a few times together... and Greg, a quite handsome Maori, does tandems here during the summer months. I did a tandem with him and was quite happy to be attached, even if only for a moment! You'll have to come with me when you get back! All of my gear came in... it's so pretty!! Miss you sweetie.... Safe travels...
