Before the ZorbingBefore the ZorbingBefore the Zorbing

See how dry we are!
Woke up to not so great weather today. Surprise, surprise again the skydive was cancelled. We rearranged for the afternoon but seeing how the weather's been going so far we didn't hold out much hope.

We were all feeling really disappointed so we decided to go to the zorb area at the agrodome. The agrodome is about a 10 minute drive out of Rotorua and has some sports and fun activities like bungy, jet boat, freefall and zorbing. I never had any intention of being a zorbonaut myself until I saw it! It really didn't look as fast as I imagined. It's basically a huge inflatable ball with a small hole for up to 3 people to get in through, you get zipped in and roll down a hill either straight down or in a zig zag. Crazy stuff!

We all chose to go in the same zorb with water. They say that if you can stay standing the whole way down the hill you get a free t-shirt but the water makes it so slippy you have no chance! It's only a little bit of water but you get absolutely drenched! As soon as we started we

This is the one we all did together, it was so funny there was just laughing and screaming the whole way. I'm sure everyone outside must have heard us!
just screamed and laughed the whole way down, it was so much fun! None of us could stand up so we just wizzed down the straight run on our bums, giggling!

We had such a great time that me and Chris had a second go, this time going on our own with water down the zig zag run. Going zig zag is so strange, you have no idea where you are because you can't really see out the ball. It was great!

In the afternoon, the weather started to improve so we were feeling a bit more positive about the skydive. I rang to check and we got the go ahead at 4pm. They picked us up from our hostel and took us to the airport base. We each chose 9000ft with a dvd and photo combo as the budget didn't stretch to anything else. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for us all to have a camera man so instead Chris had one and Lisa and I kinda shared the other one. They also let us go to 12,000ft at no extra cost because of it which was cool. Lisa and I found it really weird as we didn't

If you look closely you can make out Chris inside!
really have any feelings of nerves or anthing, even when we were on the plane and the door opened at 12,000ft! Chris was a bit nervous before but he felt the same as us in the plane. I think he has definately conquered his fear of flying!

Lisa jumped first. It all happened really quickly, A few seconds after she had gone, I went, then Chris after me. The freefall was absolutely fantastic! It's such a great feeling, I loved every second of it (we each got a 45 second freefall). You know that stomach in your mouth feeling you get on Oblivion? You don'y feel that at all its so strange. I was really relieved when the parachute came out, understandably! Because we went late in the day the sun had started to set so the view was perfect, the sky was turning pink and all the cars below had there head lights on. I would do it again any day, without a doubt!

It's a shame we didn't get to go to a Maori night but we couldn't turn down the chance to do the skydive, especially not as it had been cancelled 4 times. Rotorua is
