In full action.... what a mess :-)
Hello.
Probably most people who visit NZ come here. The area around Rotorua is an extremely thermaly active region. At first I thought, that there a few touristically packed places where you can get a glimpse of a hot spring... but there is steam everywhere. In the citypark, at the waterfront, in the spa and even in some backyards. We visited the Polonesian Spa and exspected to just sit in the tub and relax... maybe even fall asleep. But the sulphur water's temperature ranged in four basins from 38 to 42 degrees Celsius. That was hot!

I almost forgot to mention what we did before we arrived here. We tryed to find the hobbit houses. But the broshures dissappointed us. All the detailed decoration has been removed only the concrete structure is left. And if you want to see it, you also have to witness a sheep-show... oh well. We passed on. Just before Rotorua we saw a sign saying ZORB... I heard about it, and saw some broshures about it... do you know what it is? Well I think its been used in a Bond movie. It's a huge double layered bubble, but I don't want to be to

The exit felt like a 2nd birth... slipping out with all the water through a small opening. Piotr would love it.
technical. The user is placed inside and then roles down a hill! You can do different versions. In the classic version you are tied to the inside of the ball and roll down and in the new version they fill the interior with a little bit water and the customer slips around. Just let me tell you that it was awsome, and absolutely save.

Coming back to the original plot. After Rotorua we drove down the Geothermal Highway and stopped at the Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. An area of about 7sqkm filled with geothermal activities, acidic lakes, amazing mineralic colours, steam, blubbering mud and the smell of sulphur.

Enjoy the pictures
