Driving from Bay of Islands to Kaitai
Today we woke early and drove up to Kaitaia in time to make the 9am bus trip to Cape Reinga. This was a fabulous trip in a 4 wheel drive bus. The meeting of the two oceans at the Northern most point. Steve and I slid down the sandhills on a toboggan!! I got a good video of steve doing a forward roll down the hill!!

We stopped at Kauri Kingdom, there is a staircase carved in to this huge treestump
a full view of the harbour (more like a very wide river to us) We had our left over bread rolls with grilled cheese for dinner (with a glass of wine of course!!) I sat and sipped my wine and thought of my wonderful friends.
