Luching En Route from Raglan to New Plymouth
Same Same and Same for the luches, bread, philadelphia, salami, cheese, carrots and fruit.. Just a quick blog to keep you up date of where i am and what i'm up to - goodness knows what claire is up to - i assume still up to her elbows in scrubbing grease at the mousetrap. After leaving j's backpackers in Hamilton me and Kristina headed down route 3 (just) through a great drive in the forest to the small fishing town of Mokau (awesome beach again) which was en route to our present destination of New Plymouth. We had planned to check into the shoestring backpackers as it sounded pretty cheap, but in the end it was full so we are camping for not much cash out in the back yard. Yesterday evening we had fantastic food from 'Grabba Kebab' - not really a kebab in the true english sense but very nice - it claims they are delicious and nutritious - hmm. Anyway at the moment i'm planning the next project which is to climb Mt Taranaki over the next few days and soak up the seaside atmospher of New Plymouth (very reminicent of a british seaside town). Will let you know how the climb went when its been and try to post some more
Tenting At New Plymouth
Great backpackers - The Shoestring, we watched danish film, cooked 8 chicken brests (they were on an uber offer - $10), met lots of people and saw the mountain come and go depending on the minute. pictures as well.
p.s. to parents there are cd's of all the photos in the post
p.p.s to claire: you have to get a picture of the badger logging book of jakes dude - almost have begrudging respect. looking forward to are jaunt in the south - on the way down if you happen to go through Hamilton i left a twoel at J's backpackers. also you should try and go through New Plymouth as it's ace. Oh and i thing i left the spoon from my cutlry set at the mousetrap, if you could pick it up for me that would be top. - as you can see even though we're seperated claire still needs to look after me.
more news soon.
