pineapple tree!
These are all over the place, Dad thought you would love this palm tree xo So we headed to Mark's house in New Plymouth yesterday. It was a rainy day so we closed up the cottage and hopped on the ferry. It was a beautiful drive. AND I drove for part of the way! It did feel strange cause I expected the car to be on the other side of me but Mark was a very good teacher! It was such a windy road though so I got lots of practice on turning corners etc! I have some pictures from along the way as well for all of you to enjoy! We got home around 8pm-ish and I met our housemates. They all seem really nice, there's Belinda and Calib (bf and gf) and Laurell. Mark's house is very nice and he has been doing a lot of work on the place. We have the whole downstairs as our space, it has a living room, a bar and bedroom sort of all in one and its very cute! He did a great job painting and doing some decorating! Our couches are so fun! The seats are so big they fit two ppl length wise so we can spoon and watch movies!! He is still finishing up
Cottage
The cottage at Waiheke...a little cloudy the day we left the bathroom outside of our room (its technically in the garage but much more convenient than going upstairs - the door to the garage is right beside our bar downstairs). We share the kitchen and the shower upstairs and their is a living room we can all share if Mark and I want to watch satellite tv etc. OH And we have a lemon tree AND a grapefruit tree! How wonderful is that! The back yard is bigger than I thought too! Not huge but a good size. And Mark has made a place for me to plant a veggie and herb garden! I have pictures of it all. So we just dropped our bags and watched a movie with a glass of wine last night....I finally didn't pass out at 9pm haha! But I still wake up super early here, I think its the sunshine! Today Mark took apart his shower (it had a leak) and cleaned it all up and is just putting it back together and sealing it all properly. I unpacked all my stuff and found a great place for my shoes! I doubt Mark had that shelf in mind for shoes when he bought it
The Tank
This is the car Mark got for me!!! JK just a random camo car on the side of the road lol but he said they can stay there!! You'll see in the pictures! I have a dresser and Mark is making me a closet sort of under the stairs by the bar which will work perfectly! OH and Natalie your card arrived thank you so much! It was so wonderful to have mail waiting for me! It was here yesterday when we got here! And Gilly your card arrived today! Thank you too!!!! I have put the cards up on a shelf downstairs! We also went down to the Warehouse today (like a walmart kind of) and got some little things and I got to see the little downtown area nearby. I also did some reading and a bit of tanning. Oh right back to the outside! We have the backyard and then there is the side patio that we can walk out from our downstairs living room area and it has an old-style stone firepit that is just so cool! It would be great for parties! And then there is another little lawn up top with a little cute bench! That is where I did some tanning (topless! eeek cause no one could see me through the fence and all
Kiwi
This giant Kiwi bird at Otrahanga looked like he needed a kiss!!! the housemates where at work!). I tried calling Mom and Dad today but no luck! But I did get a hold of Mel at work! It was great talking with her, almost like I never left!!! Then Mark's friend Greg came by cause the boys were going to go dirt biking but it fell through....I caught my first glimpst of the peak of mount Taranaki though! Apparently you can see it really well on a clear day. Not really from our house but certain parts of town. And Mark drove me down to the beach! The Ocean is just like a 10 minute walk away! How great is that! With one of these beautiful trees with these amazing red furry flower/things! I will take a picture next time I go down there. Oh and we grabbed Subway for dinner yumm! Just like home! Sexy Aunt Mon, Jen Atalia, Gilly, Shan I'm glad you guys found my blog!!! Hope you enjoy all the stories and pictures! I miss you all! Hope everyone is doing well! Heard about the snow, ick, glad I got away when I did! Talk soon xo love An

Now I can stalk you while you're away! bahaha...no but really, it's actually making me jealous that I'm not there as well, because it looks AMAZING. It's actually quite depressing when you look out the window at all the snow here. Can you send me some sun for Christmas? Looks like you're having a good balance of relaxtion and fun! Miss you xo
