Dec 16th-19th

Katrina ( former colleague at Brinsworth now teaching in Dargaville) picked us up from our motel- we went to Whaitangi where a famous treaty was signed and saw a large canoe! We then drove to DArgaville which was about an hour and a half away. The next day we went to the Kauri forest and to the 14 mile Baylys beach- really amazing. It made a nice change to stay in someone's home. On the 19th we caught the bus back to Auckland where we stayed one night before catching the bus to Mt Manganui.

Mt Manganui was very impressive - we climbed to the top and enjoyed the views. We also walked around the base- and then I ran around - about 5k in 34mins which I was pleased with. There were thermal baths right beneath the mt which we went to twice.
