Hey, Jack and I have planned a three day ski trip to the largest ski field in the southern hemisphere! Mount Ruapehu has two skiable peaks: Turoa and Whakapapa (the "wh" sound is pronounced like an "f" in the Maori language... don't say that one out loud at work). We are going the 29th, 30th, and 31st of July right at the peak of the season.

So ... are we skiing on an ACTIVE??? Volcano? Looks like it last erupted in 2007. Hopefully it will hold out another couple of months! That will be a great trip (if it doesn't erupt)! I will google it. Love, Mom

Ok, just googled the mountain and checked out the website. It looks awesome! Did you know you can stay in an igloo ??
